We would like to inform you of a temporary backup issue that may affect some VPS and Dedicated Server users.
A recent cPanel security update included changes to the server kernel. While this update is important for keeping servers secure, the current Acronis backup agent is not yet fully compatible with the new kernel. Because of this, some customers may receive failed backup notifications from Acronis.
What’s Happening
- Your server was updated to the latest secure cPanel kernel
- The Acronis backup agent has not yet released a matching update
- This may cause backups to fail temporarily
What You Need to Do
- No action is required from you at this time
- Please do not requset or attempt to roll back the kernel, as this may expose your server to security risks
- Once Acronis releases a compatible update, it can be applied directly from your Acronis dashboard
Additional Information
- Only backup services are affected; your websites and server services remain online
- Security updates on your server remain active and intact
- Backup functionality is expected to return once Acronis releases the updated agent
